This morning we
began our first lesson on Fractions. It was a simple introductory lesson, which
most seemed to grasp. For example, a quilt contains 9 squares, 4 of which are
yellow and 5 of which are green what are the fractions? 4/9 and 5/9.
LANUGAGE
Today was continued
on our speeches. They are coming along great. Please remember that we are working on the speeches in class. Please do
not complete your speech at home.
Students are expected
to read for at least 20 minutes everyday. They can record it in their reading
log. Reading logs will be checked
every Friday.
UOI
Today we continued building our cars. I cannot wait to
see how they turn out!! They are off to a great start. We did not have French
today so we used that period to work on our cars as we had awards and a house
game this afternoon!!
For this summative, students will be asked to design
create and a vehicle that can be moved by pushing or pulling force. Please do
not build the car at home! We will be using all of the week to construct the
car. The construction of the car must be completed by Friday, January 29.The
tests will be completed the weekend of the January 30 at home. We will begin
presentations on Monday, February 1 and Tuesday, February 2. A booklet has been
sent home with all the information that will be needed. Please send this
booklet back on a daily basis.
Have a great night!
Mrs. Hocevar J
