I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed some much needed girl time in Collingwood with my high school friends from back home. I don’t get to see them as much as I would like, so it’s really great catching up when we do get together.

Tomorrow is a Day 3 (gym). Picture Day is taking place this Thursday, October 25 – please ensure that all students are wearing all pieces of the uniform.

The hot lunch site is open for November ordering. The site will close Friday, October 26^th. November hot lunch payments will be due by Friday, November 9^th. Please ensure that you are ordering lunch for your child under the correct grade and teacher. **Do not order lunch for Thursday, November 8, as we are on our ROM trip.**

**Please note that students doing any after school activity, soccer, karate, yoga, etc. will be charged until 4:00 PM in aftercare, when they will be dismissed to their program with their coach!**

Don't forget about Polar Expressions Publishing! The poetry deadline is November 16^th, 2018 and the short story deadline is November 23^rd, 2018.

Unit of Inquiry

Today we began our second Unit of Inquiry – Ancient Civilizations – ‘A Voyage Back in Time.’ Throughout this unit, we will examine what life was like back in Ancient Rome, Egypt and Greece. Today we focused on completing the K (what we know) and W (what we want to know) of our KWL chart and began our title page. We also filled in the L column (what we learned) on our Matter KWL.

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today began our third unit – Measurement. This unit is a bit longer than the last unit so our test will take place sometime around November 7^th. Today we looked at time zones. We used Canadian time zones to answer questions.
