I hope you all had a wonderful day! Just a reminder that there is no school Friday May 15, Monday May 18, and Friday May 22!

We are having another Sundae Fun Day on Tuesday May 26. It will run the same as the last one. Each sundae costs $5 and each child can choose from chocolate OR vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and candy topping. Order forms and money are due Thursday May 21.

Cookie order forms are due Thursday May 21. There are many great prizes for students who raise the most money such as gift cards. The overall winner gets a $100 bill!! So get out there and sell some cookie dough!!

If you are looking to order specific uniform items well now is the time. Some of the money raised from uniform sales will go towards efforts to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake. Please see photo below!

Due to the gym lockers being used for storage, we have decided that the students will be allowed to wear their gym uniforms on Mondays and Wednesdays only.

The Spelling Bee lists have been sent home. Please ensure your child begins practicing and that the list stays in their agendas. There is one set of words for the grade 3’s and one set for the grade 4’s. We will be choosing our top 5 from each grade (both grade 3 classes combined) the last week of May. The top 5 from each grade will participate in the St. Jude’s Academy annual Spelling Bee on Friday June 5, beginning at 9:00 am. Please note that there will be different words on June 5. The list sent home is just to help them practice.

A few important reminders/important dates

Just a reminder that students are now able to wear their summer uniform!

Please be sure to send your child with baseball hats or sun hats and sunscreen! Also please be sure to send in water bottles…with all the running around they do they get very hot and thirsty!

We are once again out of Kleenex and Lysol Wipes. If you could please bring some in that would be great!

Math

Today the grade 4 worked on finding area in square metres, which is in continuation from yesterday. The Grade 3 used grids to find area. Our unit test will take place on Tuesday May 19 after the long weekend. I have given out a review, which I strongly suggest they use to study. Review work completed in the MMS practice book will also be useful!

Language

Today we did our lesson 26 spelling test. Please sign and return them on Tuesday.
