What a way to end out Medieval Times unit!! We had so much fun at our Medieval Festival today! We loved seeing all the students in their outfits…well done!! We dined on pizza, fruit, and vegetables and drank our finest apple and grape juice. Then we headed to play some bulls eye games!

Important information and reminders:

Spirit week is happening next week! This is a fun filled week that we look forward to every year and it is a great lead up to March Break. Spirit week will run from Monday, March 6-Friday, March 10. Please see schedule below!

Monday, March 6 - PJ Day - come dressed in your cozy PJ's!

Tuesday, March 7 - Crazy Hair/Colourful Outfit Day - come dressed in colourful colours and/or with crazy hair!

Wednesday, March 8 - Princess/Superhero Day - come dressed as your favourite superhero or princess!

Thursday, March 9 - House colours - come dressed head to toe in your house colour!

Friday, March 10 - St. Patrick's Day Spirit - come dressed in your finest St. Patrick's Day attire!

Uniform reminders: JK- Grade 2 gym uniforms are to be worn on Mondays and Wednesdays. After a weekend where Monday is a holiday students will return to school on the Tuesday in their dress uniform. For grades 3 and up students are asked to come dressed each day in their dress uniform and bring their gym uniforms daily to change. Grades 4 and up should be wearing the blazer (or house hoody) each day. They will wear it in the hallways and on trips but have the option of removing it in the classroom. Lastly, our spring uniform will be in effect when we return from the Easter Holiday weekend. We will be beginning uniform checks over the next couple of weeks, so please ensure you child is coming to school everyday in their full uniform. Uniform violations will be sent home for students not in their proper attire.

Language

Today we used our language period to work on our UOI comic strips and we also played a game of SPARKLE!!

Homework – Read for at least 30 minutes per day

Math

Today we created an art piece – hand print patterns. Students traced their hands and then created a pattern inside their hand and then another one outside their hand.

UOI

Today we used our UOI period to work on our comic strips.

Homework – Our UOI summative due date has been extended until Monday, March 6. Students will be required to create a 10-frame comic strip based on Feudalism, Knights, and the Black Death (plague).
