Unit of Inquiry
Today
we continued our fifth project, this time with a partner. Each pair will be
creating a two-player racing game. Each pair will need at least two sprites to
race, as well as create a track and be able to change costumes. Students will
need to create their own code, as some of the codes will not be readily
available on Scratch. This project is due Friday and is to be worked on in
class only. Please see links below to re-watch the videos shown in class!

Inquiry into
Mathematics
Today
we learned about relating graphs and Input/Output machines. The coordinates on a graph of a growing pattern represent the Input/Output numbers in the table. Remember that an Input/Output looks like this - Input -> x3 -> -4 Output ->. Therefore, 2 x 3 - 4 = 2, 3 x 3 - 4 = 5, 4 x 3 - 4 = 8, etc. We can use a chart to help. Please see pictures below to help!
Points to remember:
Representing patterns - we learned three
ways to do this: create a table,
write a pattern rule (Start at 2.
Add 2 each time) or graph it. We see
ordered pairs again in this unit – (1, 2) where the first coordinate is the
frame number and the second coordinate is the number of tiles in a frame.
