MATH

Today our topic in math was making change. This is proving to be challenging for some. Again, any time you have a chance to allow your children to do this please do so! We looked at 2 ways to make change…
1     1) Straight up subtraction. A hat cost $15.00 and was paid for with a $20.00 bill. Therefore $20.00 - $15.00 = $5.00.
2    2) Counting up to make change. A toy cost $6.60 and was paid for with a $10.00 bill. Therefore adding a dime would make it $6.70, adding a nickel would make it $6.75, adding a quarter would make it $7.00, adding a $1.00 would make it $8.00 and finally adding $2.00 would make it $10.00!

LANGUAGE

Today we had our lesson 16 spelling test. I will mark these over the break and hand them back after the break. We will pick up spelling lesson 17 when we return! We then tied up the classroom, organized our things and did agendas. I owed them some free time for getting 100 pom-poms so they spent this time doing Just Dance and listening to music!!

U.O.I.

Today we played a house game so we were unable to do U.O.I!

Shrihan singing O'Canada! At the far end!
