LANGUAGE:
Today we continued work on our UOI summative.
Homework - Remember to
read for 30 minutes each night!
- Practice Grinch
MATH:
Today we continued work on estimating and measuring area. Today’s focus
was on using our multiplication facts. If there is a rectangle with 3 rows and
4 squares in each, we would use 3 X 4 = 12 to find the area. We can also count
the squares. If a half a square is covered it = half. Therefore two halves = 1.
If it is less than half do not count it and if it is more than half, count it
as one.
It is looking as though our unit math test will take place on Monday,
December 5. We will be having a quiz on Friday and then the math test will
consist of students having to create room in a house and then finding the
perimeter and area of certain rooms and furniture. A package will be sent home
Friday for you to review. A kind reminder that the test is not to be completed
at home…it will be completed in class!

Unit of Inquiry:
Today we continued work on our UOI summative. This summative will be due
Friday, December 2! Since we only have a week, students are expected to draw
and write about a light and sound object to help them get back to shore, as
they are stranded in the middle of a lake. They must create and draw one
hearing aid and one sight aid to help them get back to shore. ALL WORK IS TO BE
COMPLETED AT SCHOOL.
