has chosen to put together a ‘baby basket.’ We are encouraging each student to
donate $10 or buy an item(s) valued at $10. Please return the ‘Classroom Basket

The Fifth of November
Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no
reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes
‘Twis his intent.
To blow up the King and the Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
Poor old England to overthrow.
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! let the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!
LANGUAGE:
Today we used our language period to create some sound art. Students had
to use a sound word, such as boom, poof, pow and make it stand out.
Homework - Remember to
read for 30 minutes each night!
-spelling test lesson 8 on Friday
MATH:
Today we looked at measuring mass in grams and kilograms – how heavy an
object is. Remember 1000 g = 1 kg, 2 kg
= 2000 g, 1500 g = 1.5 kg and 2.5 kg = 2500 g. A gram measures smaller items (paper
clip) and kilograms measures bigger items (a person).
Homework – Unit 6 math
test will take place Monday, November 7. A review will be sent home Friday!
- MMS pg. 101-102
Unit of Inquiry:
Today we created microphones to see how that affects our sound. Does it
get louder? Is it muffled? We also filled out a worksheet with our table groups.
We watched a Bill Nye the Science Guy video on sound and completed a worksheet.
Homework –
Please note I will be out of the school on Thursday and Friday attending
a conference in Ottawa. Have a wonderful night!
