Good afternoon everyone!
I hope everyone had a great night
and we able to stay warm!
The cold weather is definitely
here to stay. Please ensure you are sending proper outdoor clothing as we are
outside for close to a hour/day. Students will not be kept in during recess
because they are not dressed properly.
Tomorrow we will be having a
dry run session on our Science Fair presentations. We will take as long as it
may to get through each one. They boards look wonderful and I cannot wait to
hear all about them!

happen on Wednesday, November 23 and we will be officially judged on Thursday,
November 24. We will be working through our Science Fair journal every day – no
work should be completed at home except for the actual experiment! Some helpful
websites are sciencebuddies.org or http://www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/Resources/Sciencefair/
*Please note time change as per email sent out today from administration - Parents are welcome to
join us, in the classroom (room 12) from 2:45 until 3:20 PM!*
MATH:
Today we looked at measuring perimeter. Perimeter is the distance around
an object (the outside). In order to find the perimeter, we measure each side
then add them all together. For example, a book might measure 5 cm by 6 cm by
5cm by 6 cm. Therefore the total perimeter is 22 cm. If a question asks to find
a side all you do is add up the sides you have and subtract that from the total
perimeter. We will do a review tomorrow as a few students missed due to Science
Fair.
It is looking as though our unit math test will take place on Monday,
December 5. A review will be sent home that weekend.
Homework – MMS pg

Unit of Inquiry:
Our unit of Inquiry has been pushed aside for a few days this week as we
prepare for Science Fair. After a discussion with Ms. Schwarz, we have decided
that there is too much going on this week to begin our UOI summative. We will
push it back until Science Fair is over. These are two big items that we do not
want rushed! We will send home information next Thursday or Friday! We will
also be toning it down, as we will only have a week to complete it!
Homework –
I hope you have a wonderful night!
