MATH:
Today we began our Geometry Unit. We focused on
polygons and quadrilaterals. A polygon is a closed figure with 3 or more sides.
A quadrilateral is a type of polygon, but a quadrilateral has 4 sides. We also
learned that there are 3 types of triangles; an equilateral, isosceles, and
scalene. An equilateral triangle has all 3 sides equal. An isosceles triangle
has 2 equal sides, and a scalene triangle has no equal sides.
Homework:
-MMS pg 36-37
-Sign and return Decimals math test
-Geometry math test will take place on Thursday, March

LANGUAGE:
Today we began our second novel study, ‘A Door In The
Wall.’ This book is based in the Medieval Ages and fits nicely with our current
UOI. It is about a boy, Robin, who is about to go off to become a knight. His
father has left to fight a war and his mother is serving the queen. He is home
alone when he catches the plague and finds himself alone, after his servants
left. One day, Brother Luke finds him and takes his to a church to nurse him
back to health. We also began spelling lesson #20, working with ‘ei’ and ‘I’e
words.
Homework:
-Finish
spelling lesson #20
-Sign
and return speech rubrics and spelling test – wrong words to be written out 10
X
Working on our character descriptions from Chapter 1!
UNIT OF INQUIRY:
Today we talked about crime and punishment. We learned that certain crimes
were associated with certain punishments. We also realized how cruel some of
the punishments were. For our activity today, we began a wanted poster. On our
poster we had to include a picture and name of the person wanted, when the
crime happened and where, what type of crime it was, the punishment for the
crime, and a reward. We will finish up this activity tomorrow.
Homework:
-Sign and return Religion UOI summative rubric
Working on our wanted posters!
I hope you have a wonderful night!
