Easter Spirit Day is on Tuesday – be sure to wear your Easter colours.
Summer uniform begin on Wednesday. Please note that on Friday, April 6,
a photographer will be coming to take some pictures for our website and
upcoming items. Students in Grade 4 and up will be required to wear their full winter
uniform, including button up white shirt, sweater vest, academic tie (not the
house tie), and blazer.
Thank you to all of the
students who took part in Oakwood’s ‘Silent Dance.’ All funds raised today will
go towards sensory items for our friends at Oakwood.

Conferences will be taking place next Thursday, April 5. A letter
regarding Pick-a-Time has been sent home. Please follow the instructions on the
sheet provided to sign up for a spot!
St. Jude’s FC – A new and exciting soccer program has arrived at SJA. St. Jude’s FC is
the official soccer academy affiliated with SJA, which is currently taking applicants
for its inaugural season. Please see flyer sent home for further information. If
you are interested in joining, please fill out the flyer and send into Ms.

MATH:
Today we did some Easter activities.
Key
points to remember:
Coordinates
can be used to describe locations on a grid or map. There are 2 kinds of
coordinate systems. The first is on a map,
in which the coordinate refers to a square. The second is on a grid, in which the coordinate refers to
a point.
Transformations – rotations (turn), reflections (flip), and translations
(slide). For a translation you must also include the description of the
movements, such as 4 squares up and 3 squares to the right. Please note that
the figure/shape must remain the same size!

LANGUAGE:
Today we finished our OWA’s, DRA surveys, and had a
spelling test. We also did some Easter activities and visited our reading
buddies.

UNIT OF INQUIRY:
Today continued discussing the rock cycle. We reviewed what we learned about it yesterday and re-created the rock cycle by completing a cut and paste activity.
Homework:
-Begin collecting pebbles (very teeny tiny rocks) and place in a Ziploc
bag with your name on it
-Sign and return Medieval Times comic strip
