Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful March Break. We enjoyed some time in North Bay, where we skied and went for long walks on the lake. Then we headed to Toronto for a night and toured around the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium. **Please note that tomorrow is sibling picture day. Please ensure students are in their full dress uniform.**

St. Jude’s FC – A new and exciting soccer program has arrived at SJA. St. Jude’s FC is the official soccer academy affiliated with SJA, which is currently taking applicants for its inaugural season.  Please see flyer sent home for further information. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the flyer and send into Ms. Dawn. Let’s go St. Jude’s FC!!



A note from Ms. Ross - February after care invoices have been sent out and payments were due on March 19th. If a child’s after care invoice has not been paid in full by March 29th, then the report card will be held until payment has been received.  

A note from Ms. Bancud - You are now able to order for April Lunches. The deadline for April lunches is Friday, March 29th, 2018.  After this date, our system closes and is unable to open for April ordering.  Please make sure your child is under the correct grade. http://mydigitalmailroom.com/sja  
All payments are due on Friday, April 6th, 2018.

This month's special is 1 Pancake with Vanilla Cream for $2.50 with a side of syrup and 3 Pancakes with Vanilla Cream for $5.00 that will be available every Friday!

Payment Instructions
  • There are two options to pay for lunches. Cash and Freshbooks. 
    • Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
    • It may take one or two days to process your order to Freshbooks, so please be check your email diligently for the invoice.  
  • We no longer accept cheque as a method of payment.

A note from Oakwood – On Friday, March 29, Oakwood Academy will be holding A Silent Dance. A ‘Silent Dance’ is a dance in which students are given individual headphones where they can listen to various types of music while controlling the volume.  This dance is an amazing way to foster inclusion and provide an opportunity for everyone to participate in a school dance. It provides a sensory friendly environment for all students at both Oakwood and St. Jude’s.  Admission to the dance will be $15.00 cash and this will include a drink. Please see letter sent home today for further information.

Today we had our pre-assessment for our Transformational Geometry Unit.

Today we began our spelling lesson #26 on plural nouns that end in ‘y.’ We also began discussing our Frindle novel study. Thank you so much to Daniel who was kind enough to sign out extra Frindle books for his classmates. Great action, Daniel.

UNIT OF INQUIRY:

Today we began our fifth Unit of Inquiry – Rocky Road. Throughout this unit, we will be exploring rocks, minerals, mining, and how rocks and minerals are a part of our every day life. Today we read a story on the three types of rocks – Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. We also began our title page.
