What a day! I am very proud of the work that was put into International Day. It all came together very nicely. Great job!!

A big shout out to my RISK TAKERS...Maram and Shrihan for singing O'Canada and Maram, Seanna, and Akash for playing the International Day game! A great effort by all!!

***A note from Mr. Monaghan…please bring in your recorders next week. If you do not have a recorder please bring in $10 to purchase one!

A few important reminders

We are out of Kleenex and running low on Lysol/Clorox wipes. If we could get some in that would be greatly appreciated.

Pre-registration forms due February 20th

Please hand in after school money if applicable.

Please remember to sign your child’s agenda.

MATH

Today we started division. We looked a ways to help us solve a division problem. We realized that division is related to multiplication. For example 21/7=3 uses the same numbers as 3x7=21. Using multiplication is a great way to check to see if our division answer is correct.

I am sending home the multiplication quiz and rubric from yesterday. Please look over it and sign it. This is not a report card mark. It was based on the quiz, homework, and class work. I was happy with the results. I did go over the quiz with some students in order for them to better understand what the question was asking. Most of the mistakes that were made, were due to students not reading the question properly.

LANGUAGE

Today was our spelling test for lesson 9. I will mark and give back to the students.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying International Day!

Thank you to all your hard work!!

Thank you to all the parents who came out to support the students! I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!!

Thank you to Shrihan for sharing his information on healthy living. I read aloud some of the food post cards and I have to say I was very impressed. I laughed out loud while reading them with the class. What wonderful imaginations some of you have!! We began our good copies, which will be finished tonight for homework!!! For the good copy I am looking for neat writing, proper grammar, a picture, and an address label! The students are aware of this!

Have a great evening!!
