Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a great night! I must
first apologize…I forgot to change the homework last night on the blog! Please forgive
me!! Homework is always written in agendas as well so please be sure to check
there as well!!
A big shout out to Eghosa who did a great
job during his environmental announcement this morning. Congrats to Sofia who
correctly guessed the song for International Day.
The girls raised another $26 today. Great
job ladies!!
A few important reminders
We are out of water and Kleenex and
running low on Lysol/Clorox wipes. If we could get some in that would be
greatly appreciated.
Lunch forms are due Friday January
23rd. Late forms will not be accepted!
Pre-registration forms due February
20th
Please hand in after school money
if applicable.
PLEASE send in $5 for food for
Greece. We have collected 2 tri-fold boards and 2 Bristol boards…thank you to
those who brought them.
International Day is this Friday
the 23rd from 2:30-3:30!
MATH
Today was our last actually lesson
on Multiplication. We revisited the strategies that we can use to solve
multiplication problems. Some strategies are using the multiplication chart,
drawing arrays, or using simple factors to solve bigger factors! Tomorrow they
will be working in groups to solve the “Strategies Toolkit!” Thursday will be a
day for a practice test on multiplication. It will be marked just to ensure we
understand multiplication before we move on to division. It is not their unit
test!
LANGUAGE
This period was spent on Greece…it
is down to crunch time! We have begun organizing our tri-fold board and
discussing what type of food to serve. Tomorrows Language period will be used
to work on how and when to use capitals.
Spelling test on Friday – Lesson 9
UOI
Today I showed a small PowerPoint
presentation on the importance of fruits and vegetables. Then we introduced the
topic of digestion and the path our food takes from mouth to stomach. Thank you
to Matthew for finding some information for us. We then started our food
postcard activity! We will be beginning our final project for this UOI next
week. Stay tune for further information.
Have a wonderful night,
Mrs. Hocevar :)
