MATH
Today we looked at changing-step growing patterns! We began by students showing examples, them pairing off and creating our own patterns and switching with our partners to see if they could guess our pattern! A changing-step growing pattern is when you start off with a pattern and the number added changes each time. For example 2*, 6*, 18*…we are multiplying each number by 3 (2x3=6, 6x3=18)

LANGUAGE
Today we did a ‘quick write’ where students are given a topic and they have to continuously write about that topic for 15 minutes. Today’s topic was summertime!

UOI
Today we learned how to write an autobiography! We began by reading an example, creating anchor charts to remember the key points, and they we began writing our own. We were lucky enough to have Mr. S help us out with this lesson! The storybook summative will be due Monday, May 2. We will begin working on it next week and will have ample time to complete most, if not all of it in class. A rubric will be sent home sometime next week!

Today was Ms. B’s last day. We were sad to see her go but know she has wonderful things to look forward to. Best of luck Ms. B! We will miss you!

Have a wonderful night!

Mrs. Hocevar J

A cupcake cheers to Ms. B!
