Good
afternoon everyone!
I hope
you all had a wonderful night!
Please remember to sign
your child’s agenda every night.
Please take the time to
label all of your child’s/children’s uniform pieces. We are having a
competition to see which class has the most pieces of uniform labeled. The
winner will receive a pizza party!! Let’s go grade 4!!
We have had our first
recess and lunch extended to 1 hour…30 minutes for recess and 30 for lunch. Our
second recess and lunch will remain 40 minutes.
***The uniform store will
be closed from September 28 until October 14, 2016. All orders must be placed
by tomorrow, Friday, September 23, via email. Alpa can be reached at
alpa@multiformcanada.com. This is especially important for the grade 4’s as we
swing into winter uniforms before the uniform store is open again.***
Important information and
reminders:
After
school activity forms were sent home today. All forms and money are due
tomorrow, Friday, September 23.
Terry Fox pledge forms have been sent home. Every little bit helps. All
forms and money are due back by Thursday,
September 29.
October lunch forms have been sent home. Please remember to completely
fill out both sides of the form, including the totals. We have some new items
so be sure to check it out! All forms and money are due back by Friday, September 30 with no exceptions!
LANGUAGE:
Today we read chapter 5 of Anne of Green Gables and completed some types
of sentences (telling: tells us something, asking: asks a question, and
exclamatory: sentence which shows excitement and/or strong emotion).
UOI:
I am very pleased to say that everyone did very well on the map of
Canada quiz. Great job grade 4’s. Please review the quiz, sign, and return to
me. On the down side, many students forgot to use capitals when writing the
provinces, territories, capital cities, and Great Lakes. I hope next time,
students remember the rules of MINTS. Today we continued to look at the
different regions of Canada. We watched a couple of videos. Tomorrow we will
break off into groups and complete a chart that outlines what we learned about
each region. Presentations will take place on Monday.
MATH:
Today was our first unit math test. I will mark as soon as I can and
then send them home for you to review.
Have a great night!
Mrs. Hocevar J
