Language

Today we began practicing for our OWA (Ontario Writing Assessment). We began by discussing what a magazine article should include, such as including the 5Ws (who, what, where, when, and why), a title, headings, pictures, as well as any research or interviews that are needed, and when we should quotation marks!

Homework – Read for at least 30 minutes

-Sign out/purchase the book ‘Frindle’ by Tuesday, April 18

Math

Today we begin looking grids and coordinates! This is when we use points on a map or graph to help us figure out where something is. We realized that we could also create objects when using a specific grid coordinate! Today we began to create Easter eggs by plotting dots on a piece of grid paper. This caused some difficulty, so I hope that after tonight’s homework we can continue tomorrow with fewer problems!

Homework – MMS pg 104-105

Helping place coordinates on the board to create a Rhombus!

UOI

Today we discussed mining. We read together as a class, used the information from the reading to answer questions, and then we began to focus on the pros and cons of mining.

Homework – Complete the 4 questions on mining and fill in the pro and con sheets…you must have at lease 4 pros and 4 cons!

Cut and paste activity on how minerals and rocks are used in our everyday lives!

Watching a video!

Have a fantastic night! Please remember to wear your full uniform tomorrow, including your blazer!
