It’s here! It’s here! Our annual SJA Spring Fundraiser is finally here. It began on Monday and runs until Friday. This year, we are raising money for technology and our goal is $9000. If we raise $3000 as a school we get to wrap a teacher in toilet paper! If we raise $6000 as a school we get to silly string a teacher! If we reach our goal of $9000, students will get to water balloon the teachers! There will be a number of events happening throughout the week and amazing prizes for students who participate, as well as a grand prize, which includes a movie and pizza party!! Some of the daily prizes include a gum day, silly string a teacher, an extra casual day, sit on your teachers chair for the day, and pie Mr. Sawatsky or Mr. Oliver in the face! We will find out our grand total on Monday!!

A note from your Grade 6 class : Dear SJA Families,
The Grade 6 class invites you to attend the Exhibition on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 9 am to 11 am, or from 6 pm to 8 pm in the auditorium.
The Exhibition is the culminating task of the IB Primary Years Programme. It is where students work collaboratively to explore a local issue that interests them.  This year’s Grade 6s have chosen the following topics to explore:

Terrorism
Elder Abuse/Neglect
Physician-Assisted Dying
Developmental Disabilities
Animal Abuse/Neglect
Immigration
Garbage Pollution
Climate Change
Crime

Some great reasons why you should attend if your child is NOT in Grade 6 include:
·         Supporting and celebrating with the Grade 6s
·         Learning about these issues
·         Being aware of what will be expected of your child when they are in Grade 6
We hope to see you then.

Sincerely,
The Grade 6 Class

We will be viewing the presentations next Friday. This is a 6 week long project that the Grade 6’s work very hard on. So please feel free to come and support the Grade 6’s!
