Good afternoon everyone!

I hope everyone had a fantastic last week of summer. It is so good to be back and to see new and old faces!

Yesterday was Carter's first day of Grade 1. He had a great day and played lots of games!

Upcoming Dates & Events:

Friday, September 8 – House Colour Spirit Day & September hot lunch money is due

Monday, September 11 – SJA Annual Back to School Kick-Off order forms and money due

Saturday, September 16 – SJA Annual Back to School Kick-Off from 11-3 Rain or Shine

Tuesday, September 19 – Unit 1 Math test (a review will be sent home)

Thursday, October 5 – International Day

SJA Parent Guild is hosting their annual 'Back to School Kick-Off' on Saturday, September 16 from 11-3 RAIN OR SHINE! It is a great way to kick-off the 2017/2018 school year and to share your summer adventures. The cost is $30/person and includes food, drinks, music, games, bouncy castles and more! Please return the order form and money to your child's teacher no later than Monday, September 11. You can pay by cash, cheque (payable to SJA Parent Guild), or e-transfer (sjaparentguild@stjudesacademy.com)

We had a great first day of Grade 4! We started off with gym with Mr. Beresford and then off to French with Mme. Carol. Please have students come to school in their full uniforms and they will change into their gym before gym class. Gym uniforms will be kept at school!

Then we played some get to know you games, such as a scavenger hunt and All About Me sheet. We also got our supplies organized, went on a school tour, and went over some rules. We also created the front page for our IB Portfolio Binders.

We ended the day with a visit from Mr. Oliver for music.

Homework:

Bring in a Canadian postcard for our UOI bulletin board

Please label all uniform pieces, including the gym uniform

Sign and return the last page of the Student Handbook, if you have not already : this was attached to the welcome letter sent in August

Sign and return phone call sheet, if you have not already

Sign and return sibling pick-up permission form, if applicable
