Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful
night!
Please note we have changed
our morning routine. As of 8:25 AM, I will be picking up students from the gym
and bringing them back to our room until 8:40, at which point we will begin to
make our way down to the auditorium for announcements. Any students arriving
before then must go directly to the gym to be signed in to Before Care until I
pick them up at 8:25. Students being dropped off between 8:25 and 8:40 can
remain in the classroom until we head to announcements. Thank you for your
cooperation.

MATH:
Today we continued worked with Input and Output, except today we used
figures instead of patterns.
**Please keep it mind that any operation (+, -, X, or /) can be uses!
Mulitplication charts were handed out to assist students with multiplication
and division.**
Key points to
remember:
Input and Output
- if +5 is in the machine we can have an input of 1 and an output of 6 (1
+ 5 = 6). If our input was 2 then our output would be 7 (2 + 5 = 7).
A growing pattern grows and
gets bigger – 3, 4, 6, 9, 13.
A shrinking pattern gets
smaller – 12, 10 8, 6.
A repeating pattern repeats
itself, using a core pattern 8, 5, 1, 8, 5, 1. The core is 8, 5, 1.
We also discussed pattern rules. A pattern rule tells us the number to
start at and what we should go up or down by. A pattern rule is always written
like this – Start at 5 and add 1 each time.
Homework:
- MMS page 14 - 15 # 2 & 3
- Math test will be on Tuesday, September 19. A review will be sent home

Today we reviewed chapter 1 of Anne of Green Gables.
We also took up the questions from yesterday. We also took a look at
paraphrasing. Ask me what it means! We discussed it as a class and then in our
table groups worked on some examples.
What does it mean to paraphrase?
Working on our paraphrasing worksheets!
