MATH:

Today we continued to work on multiplying 3 numbers and how to break it down into an easier question. We also continued to work on our algebra strategies.

Key points to remember:
For three number multiplication -  2 x 200 x 6. I can multiply 2 x 200 = 400 and then 400 x 6 = 2400 – remember to make it easy for yourself – multiply 4 x 6 = 24 then add the 2 zeros.

Algebra is a way to solve an equation where you are missing a part of the question. For example A x 5 = 45. All we do to solve this question is bring the 5 to the other side of the = sign. So, A = 45/5 = 9, so A = 9. We need to make sure we change the operation from x to / when we move the 5.

Homework:

-Sign and return math test
-MMS pg 146-147 for those in choir

LANGUAGE:

Today we had our spelling test for lesson #33. We also enjoyed some reading time outside!

We also continued to practice our Arts’ Night performance. The song that we are singing is ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ by Will Smith, which is a rap song. For our costumes/outfits, I am asking for jean (baggy if possible), t-shirts, skater shoes/jogging shoes, baseball hats (we will wear them sideways), and big gold chains. Our Arts’ Night performance will take place on Wednesday, May 30. There will be two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. We are asking that all student arrive at The City Church no later that 6:30.

Homework:

-Read 40 minutes
-Sign and return spelling test #33
