Today was our Arts’ Night rehearsal. Our spelling test
will take place Monday, due to our SJA track and field event on Friday. If by
chance it rains on Friday and our track and field is pushed to Monday, then we
will have our spelling test on Friday.
We also continued to practice our Arts’ Night
performance. The song that we are singing is ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ by
Will Smith, which is a rap song. For our costumes/outfits, I am asking for jean
(baggy if possible), t-shirts, skater shoes/jogging shoes, baseball hats (we
will wear them sideways), and big gold chains. Our Arts’ Night performance will
take place on Wednesday, May 30th. There will be two performances, one in the
afternoon (1:30 PM) and one in the evening beginning at 7:00 PM. We are asking
that all students arrive at The City Church no later that 6:15 PM.
Homework:
-Read
40 minutes
UNIT OF INQUIRY:
Today we began to examine different types of dance. We gathered together
with the other Grade 4s to watch a video – Dancing A-Z, followed Ms. Samuel through some Zumba moves, and did a GO Noodle dance activity.
We are nearing the end of our final Unit of Inquiry. We will be sending
home the summative outline and rubric later this week. Students will be
expected to create a poetry book of three poems and then choose between a fine
art project, skit, or dance. Students will present their poems and their other
project choice on Monday, June 11.
