Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you all had a
wonderful weekend. Ours was a busy one…we had hockey, family pictures (my
families favourite day of the year!!), and celebrated Carter’s birthday with
friends at Dave and Busters. Please note I will be out of the school tomorrow
afternoon. Carter received a buckle fracture to his wrist Friday during morning
recess and he has a follow up appointment at the fracture clinic tomorrow
afternoon. With any luck he will be good to go!
Brave guy!
Birthday party fun!
Tomorrow is a Day 2 and our
trip to The Old Pro Driving Range.
We will be leaving at 9:30 AM and we will return by 12:00 PM to have lunch.
Students will be required to wear their SJA gym uniform, outdoor shoes, and
must dress according to the weather, as this will be an outdoor activity – it is
looking like rain for tomorrow. Thank you to Ms. Pinto and Ms. Tran for being
our volunteers. Bake sale is taking place tomorrow and Wednesday as well. October lunch payments are due October
2nd.
As some of you may have
noticed, there is a soccer tournament that is taking place on the day of our
SITS matter workshop. I have contacted SITS in hope of moving our date, so that
our students can attend the soccer tournament. I will let you know of the new
date as soon as I hear back from SITS.
Thank you to Ms. Hayward and the Grade 4's on your wonderful presentation about in the impact of Residential schools on Indigenous people.
'Every Child Matters'

deadline for poems is November 29th and the
deadline for short stories is December 6th. Good luck
everyone!

Our annual International Day is quickly approaching and will take place on Thursday, October 17th. This year the country we will be learning about is Portugal. Beginning Tuesday, and for the following few weeks, we will be busy researching and putting together a fabulous presentation on our country. Students will need devices and books from a local library to complete their research. Please see the following groups and topics for this project.
Clothing/Art/Dance – Jacob and Anthony
Food – Sachi, Max, and Maya
Holidays/Traditions – Amber and Kareena
Sport/Toys/Games – Jai, Aidan, Joshua
Imports/Exports – Andreas, Zak, Bosco

sentences that begin with a capital letter and ending with either a period,
exclamation point, or question mark. Please use the book to help with spelling
and to be sure to answer each question completely, with support from the book.
