Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you all had a weekend!
Our RBG trip is this Thursday.
It will take place rain or shine. Gym uniform is required, as well as proper
outdoor gear as we will be spending our time outside. We will leave after lunch
at 11 and return around 3.
Important information and reminders:
It is hard to believe that
Spring Fundraiser has come and gone. I would like to thank all of the Grade 4
families for all of the support. We raised over $700 as a class and I am very
proud of that. We will have an updated total tomorrow, so I will post it then!
A note from your Grade 6 class : Dear SJA Families,
The
Grade 6 class invites you to attend the Exhibition on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 9
am to 11 am, or from 6 pm to 8 pm
in the auditorium.
The
Exhibition is the culminating task of the IB Primary Years Programme. It is
where students work collaboratively to explore a local issue that interests
them. This year’s Grade 6s have chosen the following topics to
explore:
Terrorism
Elder Abuse/Neglect
Physician-Assisted Dying
Developmental Disabilities
Animal Abuse/Neglect
Immigration
Garbage Pollution
Climate Change
Crime
Some
great reasons why you should attend if your child is NOT in Grade 6 include:
· Supporting
and celebrating with the Grade 6s
· Learning
about these issues
· Being
aware of what will be expected of your child when they are in Grade 6
We
hope to see you then.
Sincerely,
The
Grade 6 Class
We
will be viewing the presentations next Friday. This is a 6 week long project
that the Grade 6’s work very hard on. So please feel free to come and support
the Grade 6’s!

system is now open for June. Please ensure you place your order no later than Friday, May 19 at 4:00 PM. Lunch payment is due by May 23rd 4:00 PM or unfortunately your lunch order will be cancelled for the

hard over the past little while working on their annual Shakespeare play ‘The
Taming of the Shrew.’ It is time for them to show off their hard work. ‘The
Taming of the Shrew’ will take place on Wednesday,
May 10 at 7:30 PM. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and there is no cost.

UOI
Today we started our final UOI unit – The Artist’s Society. We will be
examining poems, different types of art, and of course practicing for our Art’s
Night skit!! This week we will be examining poems. Today we focused on an
Acrostic poem. An Acrostic poem uses the letters of a word to describe the word
that is written down. For example,
Sun
UV Rays
Magnificent
Movie night
outside
Enjoyable
activities like swimming
Rain showers and
puddle
Homework – Finish Acrostic
