Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you had a great day. Tomorrow is a Day 2 and gym. Please ensure students are dressed in their gym uniform ready to board the bus with proper gym shoes at 9:00 AM.  Students will change into their school day uniform after gym. After care invoices have been sent out and payments are due February 15.

Please have a small chat with your child regarding proper hygiene with regards to coughing/sneezing and hand washing! Please know we are taking all precautions necessary at the school and in the classroom.

Our next extra-curricular activity is skiing/snowboarding at Glen Eden Ski Resort. The dates of the trip are January 22, February 19 and March 4. Please do not order lunch for these days; it will not be saved nor will a reimbursement be given. We will be leaving at 7:00 AM and returning by 4:00 PM at the latest. All rentals are included, however students are more than welcome to bring their own. Please do not order hot lunch for these days as we will be eating lunch at the ski hill – students are welcome to bring money to purchase food and drink items. Students must ensure they are dressed in appropriate ski gear; warm socks, long johns with comfy clothes, snow pants, warm mitts, a face protector (if possible) and a ski jacket. Please note that if students chose skiing, they will ski all three times. If students pick snowboarding, they will snowboard all three times. All students will have to pass each level before they are granted permission to ski on the big hill, no matter what their experience.

Homework

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today we had some fun using manipulatives. We began by finding out how many different ways we can shape a net to make a cube – most tables found 3 different ways. Then we had a contest to see how many 3-D shapes we could build. Congrats to the table of Rayen, Jad, Aashyra, Rayna, Alister and Aryana!

Homework

Inquiry into Language

Today we read chapter 1 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which is our first novel study. Ask me what happened. We also did a crossword and word search activity related to Percy Jackson.

Have a wonderful night!
