Good afternoon,

I hope everyone enjoyed the night! Now that the cold weather is here, please ensure that your children come prepared…coats, hats, mitts, boots, and anything else that will keep them warm.

I still have not heard official word that we won the pizza party but I will let you know as soon as I find out! Gift cards were sent home yesterday! Thank you again for all of your support!

All HATCH forms are due to me by Thursday, December 3. If you are interested please bring in the money and forms.

IMPORTANT DATES AND INFORMATION:

Parent/Teacher Interviews this Thursday.

Field trip is on Friday. Students will need appropriate warm gear, a school bag, and disposable lunch. We hope to leave by 9:45 and be back at the school before 3:30.

A Year Ahead Day will take place on Thursday, December 10. This is a chance for all grade 4’s to experience what life is like in grade 5. All grade 4’s will spend the day with Ms. Kominek who is this year’s grade 5 teacher. I will get to have all the grade 3’s and show that how we roll!! Please keep in mind that although Ms. Kominek is the grade 5 teacher this year, it does not mean she will be the grade 5 teacher next year. The same goes for me as well!

January lunch forms are due by Wednesday, December 16 by 3:30 PM!

Please continue to check out the Parent Guilds blog for up coming events at sjaparentguild.blogspot.ca.

MATH
Today we focused on estimating products. A product is the answer in a multiplication question. For example 3 x 21 = 60 (I rounded 21 to 20 to make is easier, so 3 x 20 = 60).

LANGUAGE
Today we read chapter 5 of “Little House in the Big Woods.” We read as a class and did the follow up activities. We also did a run through of our Christmas concert songs. We are going to be singing a 3 songs!

UOI
Today we read and answered questions to information card #16. We also had some time to get some homework done!

I hope everyone has a wonderful night!
