Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you had a great night!

The cold snowy weather is back for a visit! Please ensure you are sending proper outdoor gear including snow pants, hats/earmuffs, mitts/gloves, and winter boots. Students spend at least 50 minutes outside everyday and we want them to be warm. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!

Language

Today we continued work on ‘The Whipping Boy.’ We broke out into groups and each student had a specific role they were required to do. We also worked on our speeches. We did loose some time this week so our schedule has been altered. I am hoping that by Friday we will be finished our rough copies. Then next week, we can edit and begin good copies.

A reminder that all work for speeches is to be done in class, unless other wise stated. All speeches should be between 2-3 minutes. Thank you for your cooperation!

Homework – Read for at least 30 minutes per day

-Finish French sentences

-French spelling test and lesson #20 test on Friday

Math

Today we began discussing angles. We found out there were 4 types of angles. A straight angle is 180 degrees and is a straight line. A right angle is 90 degrees and looks like an L. An acute angle is less than 90 degrees and an obtuse angle is more that 90 degrees. We made flipbooks, which included the definition of each angle, a picture of each angle, and examples we found around the school.

Homework – Classifying Angles worksheet

Working on our flipbooks!

UOI

Today we continued looking into the Feudal System. We reviewed the hierarchy from yesterday and played Feudal Smarties. This allowed the students to see how people were treated and how they paid those above them for everything.

Homework – Bring in boxes and toilet paper/paper towel rolls

Have a lovely night!
