Happy Pancake Tuesday! We
started off our day right by handing out our monthly awards and by having a
pancake-eating contest. YUM!
Important information and reminders:
Spirit week is fast approaching! This is a fun filled week that we
look forward to every year and it is a great lead up to March Break. Spirit
week will run from Monday, March 6-Friday, March 10. Please see schedule
below!
Monday, March 6 - PJ Day - come dressed in your cozy PJ's!
Tuesday, March 7 - Crazy Hair/Colourful Outfit Day - come dressed
in colourful colours and/or with crazy hair!
Wednesday, March 8 - Princess/Superhero Day - come dressed as your
favourite superhero or princess!
Thursday, March 9 - House colours - come dressed head to toe in your house
colour!
Friday, March 10 - St. Patrick's Day Spirit - come dressed in your finest
St. Patrick's Day attire!
Uniform reminders: JK- Grade 2
gym uniforms are to be worn on Mondays and Wednesdays. After a weekend where
Monday is a holiday students will return to school on the Tuesday in their
dress uniform. For grades 3 and up students are asked to come dressed each
day in their dress uniform and bring their gym uniforms daily to change. Grades 4 and up should be wearing the
blazer (or house hoody) each day. They will wear it in the hallways and on
trips but have the option of removing it in the classroom. Lastly, our spring
uniform will be in effect when we return from the Easter Holiday weekend. We
will be beginning uniform checks over the next couple of weeks, so please
ensure you child is coming to school everyday in their full uniform. Uniform
violations will be sent home for students not in their proper attire.
The Medieval Times Festival
forms and money were due on Monday. If they have not yet been returned, please
do so.
The annual SJA/TMA Oral
Competition is taking place this tomorrow. Good luck to our SJA participants. Let’s
go SJA!!
Language
Today was our reading buddies and library day. We also continued work on
our UOI summative.
Homework – Read for at
least 30 minutes per day

Math
Today we looked at repeating patterns. A repeating pattern is a pattern
that repeats itself. The core is the part of the pattern, which repeats. We
explored repeating patterns using attributes (a characteristic of a person or
thing – size, shape, colour, etc.)

UOI
Today we continued work on our good copy comic strips.
Homework – Our UOI
summative will begin this week and will be due Friday, March 3. Students will
be required to create a 10-frame comic strip based on Feudalism, Knights, and
the Black Death (plague).
