Happy Halloween everyone!
I hope everyone had a
wonderful night of trick or treating! We had a great night. Carter lasted
almost two hours and Kase only about 30 minutes. He was more excited to hand
out the candy with Nana!
It turns out I need a new hard
drive, so until then I will try sending pictures via email!
I sent home the Polar Expressions Publishing letter and
information a few weeks back. I strongly encourage students to enter on their
own time. One of my students placed third last year in the short poem category.
Please keep in mind the due dates – poetry deadline is November 15 and the
short story deadline is November 30. Good luck!

MATH:
Today we focused on Capacity – how much a container
will hold. We use litres (L) to measure big containers and millilitres to
measure (mL) to measure small containers. We found out the 1000 mL = 1 L. To
convert L to mL, we move the decimal 3 spots to the right and add 0s. For
example, 5L = 5000mL & 1.35L = 1350mL. To convert mL to L, we move the
decimal 3 spots to the left. For example, 3000mL = 3L & 4380mL = 4.38.
Homework:
-MMS pg 84-85
LANGUAGE:
Today we read chapter 10 of Anne of Green Gables. In this chapter,
Anne had to cut of her long red hair because she died it a particular colour.
Ask me what colour. We also read that Anne and her friends were playing a game,
which included a dying princess floating in a boat. Anne plays the princess and
the boat ends up leaking. Anne has to hold on a pillar of a bridge because the
boat sinks. She eventually gets rescued. Ask me who recuses Anne. We also went
over our Guy Fawkes Poem.
Homework:
-Read for 40 minutes
-Practice Guy Fawkes
UNIT OF INQUIRY:
Today we watched a Bill Nye video on sound. We filled in a fill in the
blank worksheet as we watched the video.
