Good
afternoon,
I hope
everyone had a great night!
Just a reminder to dress
according to the ever-changing weather!
We have begun uniform
checks again! These will happen every now and again to ensure that all SJA
students are wearing proper uniform. Uniform
pieces must be bought through Apla and Multiform Canada. Uniform violations will be sent home if a student is not
wearing the proper piece of clothing! First violation: a warning to parents.
Second violation: the office will notify a parent and the correct uniform piece
must be brought to the school the same day. Third violation: uniform piece will
be sent home at parent’s expense. Fourth violation: community service hours
will be assigned. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, May
11, an ice cream truck will be arriving at the school for all PYP students. A
parent, Wade Kosowan, from The Maples is doing this in memory of his brother
who passed away. We are encouraging all PYP students to bring in $2, which will
go towards the Eden Food Bank. Please help support the Eden Food Bank!

MATH
Today we studied Perimeter and how
we measure it. The perimeter is the outside of object. One way to find the
perimeter is to add up all the sides. Remember that each figure has 2 equal
sides! We began by playing a game in which students took turns picking 2
numbers. They had to create a shape that had that perimeter. For example, if 5
and 2 were choose they had to create a shape that had 2 sides equaling 5 and 2
sides equaling 2, for a total perimeter of 14! Whoever had the greatest perimeter at the end was the winner!
Then we worked out of the textbook.
LANGUAGE
Today we practiced for the Spelling
Bee and began making props for 'Cinderella Bigfoot.'
UOI
Today we looked at what’s in soil.
We did some reading and then created some artwork showing off what we learned!
I hope you all have a wonderful
evening!
Mrs. Hocevar J
