Good afternoon everyone!
I hope everyone had a lovely night!
Our Lost and Found bins
are over flowing! When you have a moment, please sort through
the Lost & Found items (they are on a table by the gym)
and take what belongs to your child(ren). At end of day Monday, May 29th,
items except for uniform pieces, will be donated to a local charity.
Important information and reminders:
The Maples Academy is hosting our annual inner school Track and Field meet tomorrow,
Friday, May 26. The top 3 boys and girls who participated in the events
on our Track and Field day and received medals will be participating. Mr.
MacDonald is asking that those students be at the school by 7:45 AM to head up
to TMA. They should be back around 3:00 PM. Students are asked to wear their
SJA gym uniform, proper running shoes, a hat, and to bring lots of water,
sunscreen and a disposable lunch. Please note that hot lunch will not be
provided. In the event of a rain day, administration will notify you via email
by 7:00 AM only if track and field is cancelled!
The top two spellers (Ronit, Ryan, Chelsea, and Klara)
from Grade 1-6 will compete against The Maples Academy and Sunnybrook on June 1
at The Maples Academy. The spellers will be leaving here via bus by 9:00 AM. Congratulations
again to Chelsea for placing first and to Manisha for placing third. Well-done
ladies!
We will be our doing Crock-A-Doodle activity in the
SJA auditorium on Tuesday, May 30 in the morning. Please note that
reimbursements will not be to students who are absent.
Our annual Art's Night is only two weeks away!! Please join us on
Wednesday, June 7 at 7:00 PM. You may also join us at our dress rehearsal,
which begins at 1:00 PM. Our theme this year is Music Through The Eras! You are
in for a fantastic night of art, dance, and song! We are asking that
students be at the school 6:30 to get ready. We will also be selling treats and
baked goods, so get ready for what is sure to be a wonderful evening. A reminder that
all students are expected to participate. If for some reason you cannot attend,
please let me know as soon as possible.
Language
Today we spent time writing in our journals about what we are doing this
summer or what we want to do this summer!
Homework – Read for at
least 30 minutes
Math
Today we began our final math unit - Probability. We found out that
possibility is how possible or impossible that something will happen. When
describing probability we use certain words such as likely (it will likely be
sunny tomorrow), impossible (it is impossible for to pick a purple marble out
of a bag if there are only green, red and blue marbles in the bag), certain (it
is certain that Friday comes after Thursday) and unlikely (it is unlikely you
will live to be 100 years old).
Student examples!
Homework – MMS pg

UOI
Today we continued practicing our Michael Jackson mash up for our Art’s
Night! For our outfits we are going to keep it simple – black shirt, jeans,
white socks, black shoes, and a Fedora hat! We would love a white glove as
well!!
Our final UOI summative is beginning! Students are required to create a
book of poetry or research a type of dance. All work is to be done in class and
will be due next Friday, June 2. Please ensure you have a device or you bring
in your research if needed.
