We will also be selling treats and baked goods, so get ready for what is sure to be a wonderful evening. A reminder that all students are expected to participate. If for some reason you cannot attend, please let me know as soon as possible.

Language

Today we continued our UOI summatives! Most of us have chosen to complete a poetry book and only few to research a form of dance!

Homework – Read for at least 30 minutes

Math

Today we learned about making predictions and actual results. We predicted certain outcomes and then conducted the experiment to get our actual results.

Outcomes – on a spinner there is 3 bananas, 2 apples, 2 pears and 1 orange. The only possible outcomes for that spinner are banana, apple, pear, or orange. It would be impossible to spin and land on a grape! For the probability part, we go back to our fractions!! The whole spinner has 8 parts (our denominator). The banana is 3/8, the apple is 2/ 8, the pear is 2/8 and the orange is 1/8. It is most likely that we will land on a banana and it is least likely we will land on an orange. It is equally likely we will land on apples and pears.

This is a short unit so our math test will take place on Friday, June 2! A review will be sent home later next week!

Homework – Probability math test on Friday, June 2 – review sent home

UOI

Today we continued our UOI summatives! Most of us have chosen to complete a poetry book and only few to research a form of dance! We also continued practicing our Michael Jackson mash up for our Art’s Night! For our outfits we are going to keep it simple – black shirt, jeans, white socks, black shoes, and a Fedora hat! We would love one white glove as well!!

**A big thank you to Julian and family. They donated 18 Fedora hats, so if you have not gotten one already, do not fret. They were handed out today! What a wonderful example of taking action. Great job Julian!!**
