Good afternoon,
Another chilly day! Hopefully it will be
the last for a while! A few important points before we move on…
PRE
REGISTRATION IS DUE FEBRUARY 20, 2015.
LUNCH
FORMS FOR FEBRUARY ARE DUE FRIDAY JANUARY 23, 2015. Late forms will not be accepted!
I will be checking homework on a daily
basis so please ensure your child completes all homework. For the most part,
Math will be given on a daily basis.
MATH
Today we began our multiplication and
division unit. We did a mini lesson on skip counting (2, 4, 6, 8, 10 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 5, 10, 15, 20 10,20,30). Students we
then asked to complete questions in the textbook. Please take time to practice
some multiplication factors with you children.
If they did not finish it was added to their homework. They also have to
complete two pages in their Math Makes Sense (MMS) practice book.
LANUGAGE
This period was spent research Greece for
International Day. We were lucky to have Charlotte from grade 7 to help us out.
We are hoping to have all of our research done by this week, so next week we
can begin our good copies and begin to put it together!
U.O.I.
Today we discussed the importance of being
physically active. The students thought of an activity they really enjoy and
acted it out. The other students had to guess what was being acted out.
The fundraising ladies raised another $35
today! Great job. Please remember to stay away from candy that may contain nuts
or that have been manufactured in a nut facility!! Thank you!
CLASS NOTES
Please
bring in student information sheets and after school money if applicable.
Please
remember to check your child’s agenda and sign it daily.
Please
send in some scotch tape and Kleenex. Thank you for the water and Lysol wipes!
Our new classroom signs!
Have a great night!
Mrs. Hocevar :)
