Hello Everyone,

Well we survived our first few days back! What an amazing first few days! I believe we have most of the kinks worked out and I thank you and the students for bearing with me!

MATH

During math I went over what is expected during this period. Since math is our first subject, as soon as the students have taken off their coats and handed in their agendas they are to get their math textbooks and notebooks and head directly to their seats and begin their bell work, which will be, math related. If there happens to be no bell work they are to read until we are all ready to being our lesson. I hope that by the end of next week they will need no reminders!!! We will be starting Multiplication on Monday so today we completed some fun activity sheets to ease in to it.

LANGUAGE

Today we began by reading a chapter of Goosebumps by R.L. Stine. Then we further discussed International Day. The country we have chosen is Greece. We broke up into groups and began researching. The students are very excited to begin this project, which in turn excites me! I look forward to helping the students with this project and taking part in my first International Day!

Here is a list of the themes we will be researching and the students who are assigned to each topic:

Sports/Games/Toys – Aziz, Akash, and Ava
Food – Melia, Matthew, Eghosa
History/Law/Policies – Shrihan, Sofia, Arin
Traditions and Clothing – Christina and Niah
Music and Dance – Seanna and Maram
Celebrations – Sia, Sakshi, and Husmeen
Langage, Climate, Population, Products and Exports – Aryan and Taran

Monday we will be beginning spelling lists and lessons in our Treehouse and A Beka language books!

U.O.I

Today we used our devices to research websites on healthy living.  After the website was approved by me the students wrote a summary. Once completed the students shared with the class the information the found. For the rest of January we will be continuing our U.O.I. on healthy living!

CLASS NOTES

Please send in the student information sheets as soon as possible.

We are running low on bottled water, scotch tape, and Kleenex. If we could get some in that would be great.

Please remember to sign your child's agenda and check the front pouch!

A letter about International Day, school fundraising, and some aftercare invoices have been sent home. Please be sure to have a look at them!

Our new classroom agreement.

The Sick Kids fundraising ladies getting their candy ready to sell. Today they raised over $33.00. Great job girls!

Researching for International Day...Greece!

Have a wonderful weekend!
