MATH
They worked so well today in Math. I was very
impressed. They seem to be getting the hang of multiplication and all the
different strategies used to help solve the problems. The Grade 4’s worked on
exploring patterns used in multiplication. For example 2 x 10 = 20 (the tens
digit of the product/answer is the same as the number that is being multiplied
by 10…all the products/answers have a ones digit of 0).
Grade 3’s began multiplying by 10. We used arrays and
skip counting to help us. A strategy they used for 3 x 10 = 30 was 3 x 1 = 3
and 3 x 0 = 0 therefore the product/answer is 30!
LANGUAGE
Today was our first spelling test. I will have the
tests marked by Monday! The rest of the time was spent catching up and working
on Greece. Next week we will begin to put our project together. Please keep an
eye out, as we will be requesting some Bristol board and a tri fold board.
Thank you in advance for your help with this!!
U.O.I.
The teams finalized their gym game and explained it to
the class. To finish off this fantastic week we played a game of Around the
World – a multiplication game!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Mrs. Hocevar :)
