I hope you all had a wonderful evening.  There are many fun activities coming up so please pay attention to the dates!

A few important reminders/important dates

Just a reminder that students are now able to wear their summer uniform!

Please be sure to send your child with baseball hats or sun hats and sunscreen! Also please be sure to send in water bottles…with all the running around they do they get very hot and thirsty!

We are once again out of Kleenex, water, and Lysol Wipes. If you could please bring some in that would be great!

Monday April 13-Thursday April 24 – Spring Fundraiser!!!! Get out there and raise as much money as you can and help support St. Jude’s Academy!! All proceeds will go towards a new playground and science equipment!! There will be prizes for the class who raises the most money as well as for individuals who raise the most. For each student who raises $35, they will be invited to go bowling free of charge!!! If we are able to raise $1000 as a school,  Mr. Monaghan will dress up as ELSA. If we raise $3000 as a school, one student will get to wax part of Mr. Palumbo's leg. If we raise $5000, one student will get to pie Mr. Sawatsky in the face! If we raise $7000 classes will get to water balloon thier teacher! Who would'nt wan't to do that!! Every little bit helps!

Monday April 13-Friday April 24 – Second Cup coffee bean sale

Wednesday April 15 – last day to order pancakes and ice cream sundaes. The bake sale has also been extended...bring in your money for some tasty treats!

Thursday April 16 – Pancake breakfast

Friday April 17 – Ice cream sundae day

Thursday April 23 – Fundraising money due

Friday April 24 – Bowling trip for those students who raise $35 or more

MATH

Today was the last day spent on Transformational Geometry. Each table worked on the unit problem. The grade 3’s had to create an amusement park ride that moved in two different directions and the grade 4’s had to design a fun house. Each student will be going home with a take home math test that will be due tomorrow. We will also be having an in class math test tomorrow morning. I sent a review home last week.

LANGUAGE

Today we continued work on Mr. Popper’s Penguins. We read chapter 2 yesterday so today we worked on vocabulary, comprehension questions, and summary.

U.O.I.

Today we actually pulled out our rock collection and began looking at it and classifying them according to the chart we came up with last week!
