MATH

Today both grade 3 and 4 looked at Transitions. This is when a figure ‘slides’ in any direction (up, down, right, left, and diagonal). We looked at which shaped did indeed ‘slide,’ the movement the shape took (2 left and 2 up), and the types of movements (diagonal, horizontal, and vertical).

LANGUAGE

Today was our lesson 19 spelling test. We decided to do Sparkle instead of a written test. Once our test was done we took some time to talk about Autism, as today is Autism Awareness Day.

U.O.I.

Today we discussed rocks and minerals. A mineral is made of the same substance throughout. A rock is made up of two or more minerals. We used different types of chocolate bars, cookies, and candies to demonstrate this. A plain chocolate bar is a mineral as it only has chocolate. A Mars Bar is a rock as it has chocolate, caramel, and nougat!

Getting to taste test our rocks and minerals! The best part of the experiment!!

Have a wonderful long weekend!
