Unit of Inquiry

Today we began our board set up. Science fair summative presentations begin tomorrow.

Students must pick an experiment that has to do with matter. Next week, we will be working our way through the Scientific Method and rough copies of our questions, hypothesis, variables, and research. Over Thanksgiving weekend, students will be required to conduct their experiment three separate times, record all observations, and write down the results. The week of October 15-18th, students will complete their good copies, create their graph, and begin board set up. The summative will be due Friday, October 18th, with presentations taking place this day. Our school wide science fair is happening on Friday, November 15th. Don’t forget to take some pictures of you completing your experiment.

Our Scientists in the School workshop is on Tuesday, October 22nd. Please note that reimbursements will not be given for students who are absent the day of the workshop. If you would like to volunteer, please note that you must have a vulnerable sector screen on file with the school. If you already have one, please ensure that you sign the annual offence declaration.
