UOI Manners Unit
Summative (brochure) due Monday, October

SJA Parent Guild
will be hosting a movie night on Friday, October 23 from 6:30-8:30 PM. Free
child care will happen between 6:00-6:30 PM. Feel free to bring a pillow and a
blanket to get cozy!! We have extended
the date to bring in movie forms and money…they are now due tomorrow,
Wednesday, October 21 by 9:00 am!
Math
Today was our unit
2 math test whole numbers. I will mark them as soon as possible and return them
for you to have a look at. Tomorrow we have been invited to watch the grade 5
do a presentation. We will begin our unit on Geometry on Friday.
Language
Today was our
reading buddies day. Today the grade 4’s helped the JK’s with a math booklet. They
had to trace the numbers and then add the appropriate amount of stickers. We
also did some work plural nouns!
U.O.I. (Unit of Inquiry)
Today we continued
working on our summative assessment for this unit. Students are asked to create
a brochure about safety. It should include colour, pictures, and information on
bike safety, fire safety, water safety, house safety, street safety, with a minimum
of 5 bullets. Each bullet must be a complete sentence and they have to write in
cursive. They will be able to find information on these topics in their UOI duo
tang. I have posted some pictures of examples and a picture of the rubric! Rough
copy is due tomorrow, Thursday, October
22. We will be working on the brochures the rest of the week and the final
copy will be due on Monday, October 26.
