Good afternoon,

I hope everyone enjoyed the night! I unfortunately have to put them in a certain order when we walk down halls. For some reason we can't seem to walk single-file and quietly down the hall. There always seems to be people budding. Hopefully we will not have to stay like this for too long!

IMPORTANT DATES AND INFORMATION:

Pioneer Village permission form and money due Friday, October 31. The trip will be taking place Friday, December 4!

Halloween casual day is Friday October 30. Students may come dressed in Halloween colours or in their costume – no scary/gory costumes, masks, or weapons will be allowed!

Bake sale continues tomorrow and is being put on by the MYP students. Items will be sold during first recess in the cafeteria. Items will range in price from $1.00 to $2.00!

Please continue to check out the Parent Guilds blog for up coming events at sjaparentguild.blogspot.ca. Movie night pictures are now up!

Math
Today we began working on measuring angles. This is a very tough concept for some so extra help at home would be greatly appreciated. They will need to use a protractor, which can be bought at most dollar stores. I understand that this is short notice so if they need a protractor that can come to school and finish it tomorrow morning before classes begin! I have included a picture of how to measure angles to assist them and they also have one on their math notebooks.

Language
Today was our reading buddies day. We also peer edited our rough copy mystery stories. They did a wonderful job peer editing the partners writing. It was so nice to see them working so well together and taking each others advice!

U.O.I. (Unit of Inquiry)
Today we completed a reading activity on ‘clearing the land.’ We read it aloud in class and they answered the questions. We also worked on our title page!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!! Stay dry!
